Getting Started
How does Varyant work?
Varyant uses AI to transform your product images with different themes and backgrounds. Simply upload your product photos, choose a theme, and our AI generates professional variations in minutes.
What image formats are supported?
We support JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats. For best results, use high-quality images with a clean or white background. Minimum resolution is 400x400 pixels.
How long does image generation take?
Most images are processed within 30-60 seconds. Batch processing of up to 1000 images typically completes in under 10 minutes.

What makes a good source image?
The best results come from well-lit product photos with clean backgrounds (white or transparent). Ensure your product is clearly visible and centered in the frame.
Can I use images with existing backgrounds?
Yes, our AI can handle images with existing backgrounds, but results are best with clean, simple backgrounds. Complex backgrounds may affect the quality of transformations.
What resolution are the output images?
Output images maintain the same resolution as your input images, up to 4096x4096 pixels. We recommend uploading the highest quality source images available.
Billing & Plans
Is there a free tier?
Yes. Free includes 100 credits (one-time), 20 collection uploads, 5 custom styles, and 10 campaigns. Shopify merchants keep Free until those limits run out or they upgrade. On varyant.ai, Free is a 7-day trial. No credit card required to start.
How do credits work?
Credits come with your plan. Standard generations use 10 credits per image; Pro uses 15. Growth plans can use discounted batch rates (5 and 10). Credits cover theme generation, previews, and style preset creation.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Shopify merchants change or cancel on Shopify's hosted plan page (Billing in the app, or Admin → Apps). You keep your current plan until the end of the billing period. Web-only varyant.ai subscribers cancel in Billing; access continues until the period ends.

How do I install Varyant on Shopify?
Install Varyant from the Shopify App Store (apps.shopify.com/varyant_app). The app opens inside Shopify Admin. You do not need a separate Google login for that path. You can also use varyant.ai on the web with Google or a magic link.
How do I sync products and collections?
In the app, open Settings → Shopify or use the collection panel. Pick one or more collections (or sync all products). We import the first product image into Varyant, within your plan’s upload limit.
How do I push images to my store — and revert?
After a campaign finishes, use Push to Shopify. We add the AI image as featured media and keep the original. Revert removes only the AI images. Collection reset reverts one collection without disconnecting it.
How does Shopify billing work?
Shopify merchants are billed through Shopify App Pricing — never Stripe. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel on Shopify’s hosted plan page. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice. Mid-cycle upgrades raise your credit limit and keep usage; downgrades take effect at period end.
What happens if I uninstall?
Uninstall from Shopify Admin → Apps → Varyant → Delete. We revert pushed AI images when possible, deactivate the store connection, and cancel Shopify billing. The matching web account becomes expired Free. Disconnect on varyant.ai Settings is for the web path; embedded merchants uninstall from Admin.
What happens to my images and credits on uninstall?
AI media we pushed is removed from products when revert succeeds. Originals stay on Shopify. Unused paid credits do not transfer to a new Shopify Free install. Reinstalling starts lasting Free again; leftover credits are not topped up to 100.

How is my data protected?
We use industry-standard encryption for all data transfers and storage. Your images are stored securely on Google Cloud Platform with strict access controls.
Who owns the generated images?
You retain full ownership of all images you upload and all AI-generated variations. We do not claim any rights to your content.
How long are my images stored?
Free tier images are stored for 30 days. Paid plans include extended storage. You can download or delete your images at any time.
